Lamington Base Camp (O’Reilly’s Campground)

A mid-week getaway at Green Mountains campground, with the rainforest walks of Lamington National Park on its doorstep. The campground offers stunning vistas and mesmerising sunsets and is right on the doorstep of O’Reilly’s Rainforest Retreat, giving access to their facilities if required (café, bar, restaurant). There’s also an open space communal camp kitchen with stunning views overlooking the McPherson Range, a fire-pit and gathering area, and an amenities building (with hot showers)!

More information on camping:

• If you have a tent book either a Basecamp site ($30 per night) or Altitude ($40 per night) campsite.
• booking allows up to 4 people per site
• one car park per site is provided in the campground with extra cars to use the main carpark nearby.
• Sites vary in size and they are allocated based on the size of the tent that is specified when you book. They are happy with 2 small tents on a site if you want to share and halve the cost. When you book just specify the combined size of the two tents.
  We can only access the campground via a gate code after 2 pm on Tuesday and must vacate by 10 am on Thursday.

There are also 17 powered safari tents that can be shared and 15 campervan/camper trailer sites with powered sites available, or you could even stay at the nearby lodge if you fancy some extra luxury! Please note that both O’Reilly’s Campground and Lamington National Park Road are not suitable for caravans.

Walks to be announced when leaders come forward, possibly a short one on Tuesday afternoon and on Thursday morning and a longer one on Wednesday. Day walkers are welcome – please let us know your intentions and we can arrange a meeting time and place.
