Mt Maroon (MDWT5F6)

Leave Barney Lodge 0730 and drive to Drynans hut. Cross Barney Ck (bring crocs) and walk along a fire trail to base of a creek running up the south side of Mt Maroon. This walk then commences with slab walks and then enters the gorge. The gorge involves some rock hopping and steep scrambles, then flattens out near the shoulder where we pick up the route to the summit. Usual day pack required and plenty of water or drinks. We return the same way. Poles are handy for this walk. Limit of 10 person for this event.
