Illinbah Circuit is about 15 km trail located near Binna Burra. We will start this walk from the end of Illinbah Road and walk to the start of the Illinbah circuit and follow the river from there. We cross the Coomera River about 12 times.
This is a beautiful walk and forms part of the Gondwana Rainforests of Australia World Heritage Area, famed for its ongoing geological processes, evolutionary history, and diversity (especially of rare, threatened and endemic species). Giant red cedar trees in the endangered lowland subtropical rainforest are a feature on this walk.
Bring morning tea, lunch, walking poles would be handy crossing the creeks, along with some dry sock for the walk out (just in case you get your feet wet which is a real possibility).
This walk has only just opened since the last major flood event.
We will be leaving Redlands at 6am.
