This day walk is part of the Mt Barney basecamp weekend, and starts at the same place as Ted’s Mt Maroon walk. We’ll head up Paddy’s Peak for morning tea, head down to a fire trail, walk along to the top of a waterfall for lunch and splendid views. We’ll then meander back to our starting spot. This isn’t a hard or very long walk but it does involve a bit of off track and uphill, so is best suited to reasonably fit walkers who are comfortable with no track and possible erratic progress. It also involves crossing a creek at the start and finish, so bring crocs or similar. Bring the usual gear, food, plenty of water, poles recommended. Oh and clean clothes to change into for the drive back to the campground.
Guests welcome but please contact me first for safety reasons. also, if we haven’t walked together before, please message me before signing up.
We’ll meet at the campsite at 7.30am and carpool from there as there is limited parking at the start of the walk. We may carpool with Ted’s group, depending on his expected timing.
