This hike is part of the Mt Barney Base Camp selection. Colleen and Leah will be co-leading – Colleen has done this walk before and Leah has not.
This is an out-and-back trail near Mount Barney, length 13-14 km in total with 480m elevation gain. Generally considered a moderately challenging route, with a few steep sections but nothing too technical.
This beautiful trail visits some lovely waterfalls and has some creek crossings to make it interesting – you may like to bring your water shoes/crocs and a small towel to dry your feet, or you may like to take your chances and just walk through!
Bring morning tea, water, hat, and the usual daywalk gear. Poles may be helpful if you prefer in general to use them. We intend to return back to camp for lunch in the early afternoon.
There is also an option for anyone coming from home and not participating in the weekend camp to join us for this daywalk. Please discuss with the leaders in advance where and when to meet (and note that once we are at camp we will not have phone reception or access to Meetup).
Leaders – Leah (0499234606) and Colleen (0401393627).
