Approx 7km circuit through mostly open eucalypt bushland, following the Horse Trail loop – we’ll allow for 2hr at a comfortable pace. Although there are not many distinctive features on this track, it should make for a pleasant Sunday amble. The tracks are wide and well-graded (all dirt/gravel except for a short bitumen section towards the end), and there are a few hills but nothing too strenuous (elevation gain 120m).
We’ll meet at 8am in the shelter near the carpark – (gates to the carpark advertised ‘open at 8am’, so if they’re late opening… don’t worry, we’ll all be late!)
Bring a hat and plenty of water – this can be quite a hot walk with only partial shade for most of the way. Poles not really necessary unless you prefer in general to use them.
There are picnic tables and toilets at the carpark, and if anyone would like to, we can stay for morning tea there after the walk. BYO coffee/tea etc and I might even bring a cake or slice to share!
