Moogurrapum Creek Paddle KAK

January 11 @ 7:00 am - 9:30 am

Thompson Esplanade, Victoria Point
7am – 9.30am
BYO kayak, paddle and PFD. Aim is to be on the water by 7am. Head to the corner of Eagle Street and Thompson Esplanade, look out for the yellow car to find the launching spot on the Esplanade.

We will have a beautiful high tide of 2.6m at 7.55am to explore Moogurrapum Creek. We start out with a short paddle on the bay to the entrance of the creek. Depending on the wind this could be choppy. Once in the creek we’ll be much more sheltered.

The aim is to paddle upstream on the incoming tide as far as we can go, then turn around and paddle back, with a bit of luck the tide will just have turned by then. We have the option to explore a side creek before returning to Thompson Esplanade where we’ll finish our paddle.

Should the wind be a problem we might paddle up Eprapah Creek from Point Halloran instead if that looks more sheltered.

Please note that club regulations now require everyone to wear a PFD.
Contact me if you have not paddled with me before.
Members who have participated in a rescue practice session with me may get priority.
