A relatively easy loop from O’Reilly’s carpark to Python Rock Lookout and Pats Bluff returning via Morans Falls and the Wishing Tree track. Approximately 11km total, taking 4.5-5hr at a comfortable pace.
The tracks will lead us through rainforest and dry forest sections, and near Pats Bluff in the open along the clifftops where we will have morning tea with spectacular views. The tracks in the first section are generally flattish, on graded track to Python Rock Lookout, then on a footpad across leaf litter and tree roots (possibility of treefalls to climb around). In the second section we will be on graded track to Morans Falls where we will have lunch, and then generally a steady uphill on the Wishing Tree track to return to O’Reillys in the early afternoon. Optional refreshments at the cafe before the drive down the mountain and home.
Bring – hat, sunscreen, insect repellent, warm jumper, water, morning tea, lunch and the usual daywalk gear.
We will meet in O’Reilly’s carpark at 8:30am to start walking soon after. Suggest allow 2hr driving time from Redlands to O’Reillys – the road from Canungra is slow, don’t rush it!
Carpooling to be arranged closer to the time – please indicate in the comments section below when signing up for this walk if you need a lift, wish to drive and meet there, or if you can drive and take others.
