Strangler Fig Cairn Walk – DW S 2 B

November 29 @ 8:00 am - 11:00 am

This is an easy 6.5km walk through the rainforest of Conondale NP to the rock sculpture constructed in 2012. There is also an option to inspect the entrance to an old gold mine tunnel which branches off the main track. After the walk we may have a swim in Booloumba Creek – when the water is flowing, the swimming hole is inviting, so pack your togs!

Bring – morning tea, 2L water and the usual day walk equipment.

A 4WD vehicle is required to reach the starting point of the walk as there are two creek crossings to reach the day use area, so numbers for the walk will be determined by how many members are willing to offer their 4WD and take passengers. The creek crossings are easy with a firm rock base and shallow water. Please indicate when signing up for this walk if you are willing to offer your 4WD.

We will leave camp at 7:30am for an 8am start, and should be back at camp by 11am. All walkers are to meet at Kookaburra Park and travel together in the 4WD vehicles to Booloumba Creek day use area where the walk will commence. There is no phone reception at the day use area.

If you would like more information, please contact Vince 0418 889 426.
