Monday 18 November
10am-12.30pm
Deepwater Bend Reserve, Wyampa Rd, Bald Hills
BYO kayak, paddle and PFD.
Please waitlist for this event. if you haven’t paddled with me before please contact me before you waitlist.
We’ll be launching from Deepwater Bend Reserve at the end of Wyampa Road, Bald Hills. The aim is to be in the water by 10am . We’ll have a beautiful high tide at 11.20am, which should give us plenty of water to paddle the 9km Eagle Trail. From Deepwater Bend we’ll paddle downstream on the Pine River first (yes, unfortunately this means paddling into the incoming tide), then go up Bald Hills Creek which is a lot narrower than the river and provides a great opportunity to explore in amongst the mangroves. On the way back we have the option to pick up the Island Trail and paddle around the islands in the river before making our way back to Deepwater Bend. For more information and a map visit:

The Pine River becomes very wide as we make our way downstream, and can get very choppy in windy conditions because of the proximity to the bay. As such, only kayaks suitable for open water will be accepted on this paddle (e.g. sea kayaks, surf skis).
Consider bringing a snack to have on the water as there is no opportunity to go ashore on Bald Hills Creek. Bring morning tea, or lunch, to have at Deepwater Bend Reserve after our paddle to finish off the morning.
Maximum group size: 6 people.
