This approx 11km walk is mostly along fire trails with a few steep hills and a couple of creek crossings with permanently placed stepping stones.
We start from the carpark and follow the Venman Circuit anticlockwise, along the banks of Tingalpa Creek, through melaleuca swamp and into open eucalypt forests. When we reach the boundary fence, we leave the Venman circuit and cross into the adjoining Neville Lawrie Reserve, with a quick stop to view the picturesque billabong and then we’ll follow the track up to the old quarry for morning tea. We then head back to complete the Venman Circuit back to the carpark.
We expect to take 3-4hr in total. Bring plenty of drinking water, morning tea, insect repellent, hat, and the usual gear for a day walk. Poles may be helpful for going up and down hills with gravelly surfaces.
